Sunil Kumar is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) who has spent more than three decades inside the finance function — first in audit and assurance, then in project controls, and for most of his career in the finance, grants, governance and operations leadership of international development organisations, NGOs, foundations and social-impact institutions in India and South-East Asia. Since 2021 he has held senior and CFO-level finance leadership roles.
That work has been hands-on: managing donor-funded portfolios, reporting to Boards and Audit Committees, handling FCRA and regulatory compliance, building risk and internal-control frameworks, and clearing audit findings. Audit and grant-monitoring assignments took him to every state in India, including remote and hard-to-reach areas — which is why his frameworks are built around how programmes actually run, not only around what the rules require.
His books and IGMA™ toolkits turn that experience into tools any organisation can use on its own. He is the author of The Strategic CFO and The Resilient Institution, among other titles.
